TINA TINA revolutionised the telecommunications industry with an object oriented (OO) approach to revising the telcos' business practices. TINA initiated models and standards implementing the interfaces and protocols needed for the interoperable Internet era. However TINA was too telecom operator biased, its network architecture was too complex, it could not cope with mobility and it overlooked the Internet. At the time CORBA was not mature enough and TINA triggered various CORBA enhancements In September 2000 the OMG announced plans to continue the work of TINA-C within the OMG's vendor-neutral, platform-neutral technology adoption process. TINA was ahead of its time. |
