Part of the $56.4 million Dorrigo Escarpment Great Walk project, FORGE is currently delivering a network of five remote access bridges through Dorrigo National Park for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The ambitious 46km multi-day walk traverses the Great Dividing Range through Gumbaynggirr Country and Gondwana rainforests and is seen as a critical step towards turning the region into a global ecotourism destination.
FORGE's scope includes the design and delivery of four cable-swing bridges with spans ranging from 20 to 35 metres and a separate 13-metre aluminium truss bridge near Bangalore Creek. All works are being completed in highly sensitive habitats and are subject to rigorous environmental and Aboriginal heritage controls.
