UPDATE: 24 November 2024
We are thrilled to announce FORGE's official appointment to deliver this stunning new $18 million community skywalk for Tamworth Regional Council in conjunction with the NSW Government Regional Tourism Activation Fund.
First earmarked in May 2021 as part of the wider Victoria Park Master Plan, the Tamworth Regional Skywalk will feature a network of elevated walking and viewing platforms rising up from Endeavour Drive to the top of Oxley Scenic Lookout.
As a critical new piece of recreational infrastructure, the Skywalk aligns directly with the Tamworth Regional Active Transport Strategy. When complete, it’s also expected to become an iconic tourist attraction for the entire region, giving locals and visitors of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy the natural bushland of Victoria Park and the sweeping views toward the Liverpool Ranges.
Construction on the Skywalk is scheduled to begin in early 2025 with completion in 2026.
UPDATE: 12 August 2025
Following extensive pre-construction and design collaboration with Tamworth Regional Council, an important milestone has been reached on the stunning Tamworth Regional Skywalk.
Despite some unhelpful winter weather, the first concrete footings have been poured at the Oxley Scenic Lookout site, with many more to come in the following weeks.
UPDATE: 6 November 2025
FORGE was delighted to assist
Tamworth Regional Council yesterday as they hosted a behind-the-scenes progress tour of the Tamworth Regional Skywalk project.
With guests and local media in attendance walking the path up to the first viewing platform rising up to Oxley Scenic Lookout, the occasion also provided the perfect moment for a very special presentation.
FORGE Head of Construction, Robert Antonios, was on hand to present a $10,000 donation to the project's very first FORGE Grassroots™ recipient,
Can Assist Tamworth.
Accepting the donation on behalf of
Can Assist was Bruce Lobban, who explained that the funding will help provide practical and financial support to local cancer patients and their families across Tamworth and the surrounding region.
The contribution was made through FORGE’s Grassroots™ program—a long-standing initiative that continues our founder’s legacy of giving back. Through Grassroots™, we support local initiatives, educational programs and community projects, helping regional communities thrive alongside our developments.
UPDATE: 2 December 2025
While the first elevated viewing platform was revealed at a media event in early November, this footage shows our team in action during its construction.
This marks an exciting new phase for the landmark project, which has steadily advanced through months of detailed groundwork and structural preparation since construction began.
After an extensive period of pre-construction, design detailing and planning, we’re delighted to say the Skywalk is coming together quickly for
Tamworth Regional Council.
Several key sections of the 1,470-metre Skywalk are now in place including elevated boardwalks and a spectacular community lookout rising more than 120 metres above the city.
With a dedicated team based out of Tamworth, FORGE is now leading the delivery of the other elements with preparation works well advanced for a complex bridge lift that will see an enclosed 20-metre pedestrian road bridge positioned across Scenic Drive next month.
- Main structural elements of the Tamworth Regional Skywalk:
- 381-metre on grade concrete path
- 963 metres of interconnected boardwalk structures and stairs
- 84-metre girder-supported elevated boardwalk
- 20-metre clear-span enclosed pedestrian road bridge
- 296sqm of viewing decks
UPDATE: 8 April 2026
